Reminder: Melissa ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Staff will return and offices will reopen for our scheduled Teacher Work Day on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Students will return to school Wednesday, Jan. 18.

The Melissa High School competitive cheerleading team is headed to state! The community is invited to attend the Cheerleading State Sendoff at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023 in the high school gym to watch a public performance of the state competition routine. Admission is free.

At Monday night's Melissa ISD Board of Trustees meeting, the board endorsed Marcus Eckert to serve as the next principal of Melissa High School following the conclusion of the current school year, as Kenneth Wooten moves into the role of Executive Director of Campus Development for the district. The tornado shelter-in-place has ended for Melissa ISD students and staff. We will continue to monitor area weather conditions and will follow our safety procedures as appropriate.

Bundle up and celebrate the arts! Join Melissa ISD for the first annual Heart for the Arts festival from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. this Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022. Led by Melissa ISD fine arts students and held outside of the Melissa Arts Center, Heart for the Arts will feature bounce houses, face painting, art stations, pop-up performances, photo ops, storybook read-alouds, hot cocoa, food trucks, and more.
