In an effort to gather feedback from Melissa ISD parents and guardians regarding the 2021-2022 school year, we invite you to complete the Willow Wood Elementary Parent Survey by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/wwesurvey2022. If you have students at multiple schools in Melissa ISD, you will receive a notification with a survey link for each campus. The surveys can also be accessed from the Melissa ISD website at www.melissaisd.org/surveys. All surveys will close Friday, March 18, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

Due to the winter weather forecast and increasingly hazardous road conditions across the metroplex, Melissa ISD will be closed Thursday, February 24. All extracurricular activities are canceled for both Wednesday and Thursday. Carpool and bus delays are expected during Wednesday afternoon dismissal. Melissa ISD will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day on Thursday and will communicate if the decision is made to close or delay school on Friday, February 25. As a reminder, Melissa ISD students do not have school on Monday, Feb. 21 due to a scheduled Staff Development Day. School will resume Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Melissa ISD parents and guardians, please be reminded that our school front offices do not accept outside deliveries for students, unless brought in by the student's parent or guardian. As we approach Valentine's Day on Monday, Feb. 14, please note that our campuses will not have a space for students to receive or store gifts; please consider planning your celebrations and gift-giving outside of the school day. After continued monitoring of the predicted weather forecast and area road conditions, and with the safety of our community in mind, the decision has been made to close all Melissa ISD schools and offices on Thursday, February 3. There will be no school or extracurricular activities on Thursday. Regarding Friday, February 4, we will continue to monitor conditions and send further communication on Thursday, as promptly as possible.
We are closely monitoring the weather forecast and area road conditions for the remainder of this week (Feb. 2-4), and we will promptly communicate any unexpected changes to normal school operations, in the event that a delay or closure is decided upon. Tickets are on sale now for the "Mardi Gras in Melissa" gala on Saturday, March 19, presented by the Melissa Education Foundation. Families can now order a free set of four at-home COVID-19 tests online at COVIDTests.gov. Melissa ISD will continue to offer onsite testing for symptomatic students and staff, while supplies last. For more information, visit https://www.melissaisd.org/article/631202.
The Melissa ISD drive-thru COVID-19 testing site will be closed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 17. The drive-thru testing window is 7:15 – 10:15 a.m. on days that school is in session. For our scheduled Teacher Work Day on Tuesday, Jan. 18, the drive-thru testing window will move to 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Drive-thru testing is now only available by text appointment. The Melissa ISD academic calendar for the 2022-2023 school year, as recommended by the District Site-Based Decision Committee, has been approved by the Melissa Schools Board of Trustees. 📆 To view the 2022-2023 school calendar, visit https://www.melissaisd.org/calendar.
