Melissa ISD students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to help fight hunger this fall by collecting and donating food items to support local families in need.
The Fall 2024 Food Drive will run from Nov. 11-20, 2024, and will encourage students to “fill the red bag” in their classroom with non-perishable food items. Student leaders on each campus from the Student Council and Interact Club will coordinate food collection and encourage participation among their peers. All food donations collected will go to families in the Melissa community through the First Melissa Christmas Angel Program and the Melissa Community Outreach Food Pantry.
Suggested donation items include: dry pasta, oatmeal, peanut butter & jelly, canned veggies, cereal, mac and cheese, canned soup, creamed soup, canned meat, Hamburger Helper, rice, and dry/canned beans.
