The Texas Education Agency (TEA) announced that final reporting will be delayed for all spring 2023 state assessments. This includes STAAR test results for grades 3-8 and end-of-course (EOC) exam results for Algebra I, English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History. Preliminary results have been tabulated and published online by Collin County Elections for the May 6, 2023 Melissa ISD board election. The Melissa Cardinals return to the field for Spring Game Day on Saturday, May 13 in preparation for the upcoming football season. The game is free to attend. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium with community tailgating beginning as early as 5:30 p.m. Spots are still open for the "Game Day Experience" with both the football and cheerleading programs. The Sixth Grade Center is hosting an Academic Expo where incoming 6th grade students and parents/guardians can learn about courses, scheduling, and more for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
