Melissa ISD is preparing for a future with two middle schools, both serving students in grades 6-8; all Melissa Cardinals. Members of the middle school planning focus group and the Board of Trustees have recommended that the district build a second middle school campus, with the current Melissa Middle School campus to undergo significant renovations. In addition, the third phase of Melissa High School is well underway and Sumeer Elementary School will open in the fall of 2023. The Melissa Booster Club is hosting a Mother & Son Date Night event on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 at the Melissa Championship Center, welcoming moms, grandmas, guardians, and mother figures and sons for an evening of fun and memories. Melissa ISD students in grades 5-12 are required to have parental consent to check out books from the school library that are outside of the standard juvenile collection. Parents and guardians were sent a notice about this requirement and a link to a consent form in an email from the district on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. If you did not receive this information, please contact your student’s school or visit the news section of the Melissa ISD website/app.

All Melissa ISD students are required to have parental consent in order to receive prevention education instruction in accordance with state legislation. Parents and guardians were sent a notice about this requirement and a link to a consent form in an email from the district on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. If you did not receive this information, please contact your student’s school or visit the news section of the Melissa ISD website/app.

This year's Birdie Fan Club is accepting new members through Friday, Oct. 7! The Birdie Fan Club is open to students in Pre-K through 5th grade. All members receive an official t-shirt in addition to being VIPs at varsity football home games. We look forward to welcoming our Cardinals back to school on Tuesday, Aug. 23! If you plan to have your student ride the bus on Tuesday, you must complete the transportation registration form online by 11:59 p.m. this Sunday, Aug. 21. If you have not completed this form for the 2022-2023 school year, your student is not yet registered to ride the bus. We understand that there has been confusion regarding transportation registration, and we hope that this extended timeline is helpful for families in need of bus service.

#NCExcels Meet the Teacher: North Creek Elementary parents/guardians and students can meet their classroom teacher and bring their school supplies to campus on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022. There are two opportunities to attend: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 4-6 p.m. The event is come and go. Our school is located at 4401 Cypress Drive. Teacher assignments will be emailed to parents/guardians prior to Meet the Teacher.
