Pay it Forward

On Wednesday, April 23, Mathews Auto Group (Honda and Nissan in Paris, TX) celebrated two extremely deserving educators from Melissa ISD by honoring them through their "Pay it Forward" initiative.

Our first honoree was Holly Stinton, a Elementary Gifted and Talented specialist. The district Gifted and Talented Coordinator, Amanda Daniels, spoke highly of Stinton, saying, “Holly Stinton is hardworking and consistently goes above and beyond in her role. She builds strong relationships with her students and understands their individual learning needs. She is also a great support for teachers, helping them understand how to work effectively with gifted students.”

Brenden Dimming, a Speech and Debate Coach at Melissa High School, was also honored. Director of Fine Arts, Jerry Whorton, recognized Dimmig, saying, “We are thrilled to recognize Mr. Dimmig as the ‘Pay It Forward’ award recipient. Mr. Dimmig is a selfless and charismatic educator who embodies the Cardinal Way. His student-centered approach and relentless commitment to student success are evident in all he does. Every day, he goes above and beyond to create meaningful opportunities and positive outcomes for the students he serves. Congratulations, Mr. Dimmig — and thank you for the difference you make!”

Additionally, Melissa High School Principal Marcus Eckert shared his thoughts on Dimmig receiving the award, stating, “Mr. Dimmig exemplifies the very best of what it means to be a Melissa Cardinal. He lives out our core values daily, always putting the needs of others before his own. His unwavering dedication inspires students to reach their full potential, and their success is a direct reflection of his passion and impact. We are incredibly proud of Mr. Dimmig and grateful to have him on our team.”

The dealership owners, Tim and Julie Anderson, are a former Melissa Cardinal family and initiated the 'Pay it Forward' program to recognize teachers who go above and beyond for students and the school without expecting anything in return. Both Anderson and Ramos were awarded $250 each through this initiative as a thank you for their service in education.

Congratulations to these outstanding teachers! We deeply appreciate your dedication to our Cardinals.
