12:15 p.m. - Melissa ISD is closely monitoring the current weather conditions. The most severe weather is expected between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., which coincides with our dismissal time.
Our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. If weather conditions are deemed unsafe for dismissal, we will implement a dismissal hold, during which students will remain on campus until it is safe for them to leave. Campuses will communicate specific details regarding their inclement weather dismissal procedures. Please be aware that bus routes may also experience delays.
Our Melissa ISD Police Department is in close coordination with city and county officials to continuously monitor the weather conditions. If any changes to the dismissal procedures are necessary, each campus will provide specific updates later in the day based on the weather conditions and their dismissal schedule.
At this time, we do not anticipate an early release this afternoon. We understand that some families may wish to pick up their children early due to the anticipated weather. We encourage each family to make the best decision for their child’s safety.
