Melissa High School cheerleading tryouts for the 2025-2026 school year are scheduled for the evening of Thursday, March 6, 2025, open to students entering grades 9-12. Students who are interested in trying out for the cheerleading squad should make note of the important activity dates and requirements below.
Students planning to try out for cheerleading must complete the tryout information form by Friday, February 28 and have a parent or guardian sign the Tryout Packet, both of which can be found at www.melissaisd.org/cheer.
Prior to participating in cheerleading tryouts, it is highly encouraged for the student to attend the informational meeting with their parent or guardian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19 in the Student Union at Melissa High School.
To learn and practice the tryout material, students should attend one or more of the Tryout Material Clinics heldat 4:30 p.m. from March 3-5 at the Championship Studio at Melissa High School (3030 Milrany Ln, Melissa, TX 75454) until 6:30 p.m. Here you will learn tryout material and be evaluated on your stunting abilities.
Tryouts will be held at 5:00 p.m. until completion on Thursday, March 6 at the Championship Studio at Melissa High School. Tryout results are expected to be posted online at www.melissaisd.org/cheer after school on Friday, March 7. The results can only be accessed by Melissa ISD students using their school email address.
Students interested in trying out for Melissa High School's mascot, Birdie, should attend the informational meeting on Monday, April 7. Mascot tryouts are scheduled for Monday, April 14. More information about Birdie tryouts will be shared as the date approaches.
