Homecoming Dates Announced for Oct. 15-18

All Melissa Cardinals, including current students, employees, alumni, and family, are invited to join Melissa High School and Melissa ISD in celebrating Homecoming Week from Oct. 15-18, 2024. Community events will include the Homecoming parade, an outdoor pep rally, and the Melissa High School Homecoming football game.

The Homecoming parade, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, will feature appearances by the Melissa High School 2024 Homecoming Court, Homecoming Prince, and Homecoming Princess. Kenny Deel, long-time MISD teacher and coach and current Executive Director of Operations, will lead the parade as the Grand Marshal. Melissa ISD student groups and Cardinal youth programs that are interested in having a float featured in the Homecoming parade can register online at www.melissaisd.org/homecoming.

On Friday, Oct. 18, the Melissa Cardinals will take on the Frisco Independence Knights at the Melissa High School Homecoming football game, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Coach Kenny Deel Stadium. Ticket sales open online at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11. Ticket pricing is $6 for adults and $4 for students; all tickets increase to $10 beginning at 3:00 p.m. on the day of the game. The district will air a live stream for those who can’t make it to the game.

Homecoming spirit shirts are available to purchase through Friday, Sept. 27. Shirts are available in short-sleeve, long-sleeve, and youth sizes. Orders will be distributed on campuses beginning Monday, Oct. 7 by the Melissa High School Student Council. Head to our Melissa Homecoming page to order a spirit shirt today.

Students in grades 6-12 will get to participate in themed dress-up days throughout Homecoming Week. All students are encouraged to participate in Cardinal Spirit Day on Friday, Oct. 18 and Homecoming mums may be worn to school on that day.
