Becki Girouard has been hired by the Melissa Education Foundation (MEF) to serve as the Executive Director, bringing more than 20 years of development experience to the foundation which offers support to Melissa ISD students and staff by providing scholarships and grants. The Melissa Schools Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Wednesday, approving an increase in the pay rates for substitute teachers who serve at Melissa ISD. The new rates, effective Oct. 4, offer competitive wages compared to school districts across North Texas. Melissa ISD Parents/Guardians: Please be advised that we are sending home two paper forms this week that need to be completed by you and returned to your student's school by next Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021. These forms include: 1) the Student Directory Information Release, and 2) the Internet Safety Policy & Acknowledgment Form. Students in Pre-K through 5th grade will receive the forms in their weekly folders. Students in 6th through 12th grade will receive the forms during their advisory period.

Parents and guardians will be receiving a letter in the mail with instructions on how to use the new Home Access Center (HAC) to monitor student grades and attendance online. As part of Melissa ISD’s continued mitigation efforts surrounding COVID-19, the district’s onsite rapid COVID-19 testing program is expanding to offer drive-thru testing for students and employees.
