The entire Melissa community is invited to participate in the Fill the Fan Bus food drive, kicking off on Nov. 1, 2024, at the final home football game against Walnut Grove.
Following the game, elementary students are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to their school during the week of Nov. 4-8. On Friday, Nov. 8, the fan bus will visit each elementary school to collect the donated items and tally up the totals for the MISD Elementary School Challenge sponsored by Conserva Irrigation. Additionally, the classroom with the most donated items will win a pizza party.
Suggested donation items include: dry pasta, oatmeal, peanut butter & jelly, canned vegetables, cereal, mac and cheese, canned soup, creamed soup, canned meat, Hamburger Helper, rice, and dry/canned beans.
The Melissa Booster Club is excited to support the Fill the Fan Bus food drive. This is a wonderful opportunity for students and the Melissa community to practice compassion by helping those who may be facing tough times, and to experience the joy of giving.
