Elementary Dean of Students

Joining the leadership team of each Melissa ISD elementary campus in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year are the new Dean of Students. This administrative role will work alongside our elementary principals and assistant principals in serving our Cardinals. Meet each of the new Dean of Students below:


Lahleh Olateju, Harry McKillop Elementary Dean of Students

This is Laleh Olateju's sixth year with Melissa Schools and her 12th year in education. Previously, she held roles as an instructional coach, intervention specialist for grades K-5, testing coordinator, and teacher for grades 2nd-5th in Melissa, McKinney, and Dallas.

Principal Womack shared, “We are honored to welcome Ms. Laleh Olateju as the new Dean of Students at HME. Ms. Olateju is a committed leader known for her excellence and genuine heart for kids.”


Michelle Day, North Creek Elementary Dean of Students

This is Michelle Day’s first year in Melissa ISD and her 18th year in education. Before becoming Dean of Students for Melissa ISD, her most recent position was as a math interventionist in a small district which allowed her to lead the elementary campus mentorship program for new teachers as well as serve as a coordinator for the following activities: UIL, 504, MTSS, yearbook, and testing.

Principal Edwards shared, “We are so excited to welcome Michelle Day to the Cardinal family. We look forward to all the great things we will accomplish together.”


Jamie Roubinek, Willow Wood Elementary Dean of Students

This is Jamie Roubinek's sixth year in Melissa ISD and her 12th year in education. Before serving as Dean of Students, she held roles in 2nd-5th grades, serving in both bilingual and monolingual classrooms, as well as teaching high school Spanish.

Principal Bale shared, “I am elated to have Mrs. Roubinek join our administrative team. She has been a successful teacher at WWE, and I have no doubt she will continue that success on the administrative team.”


Crystal Slaton, Sumeer Elementary Dean of Students

This is Crystal Slaton's first year in Melissa ISD and her 20th year in education. Before joining Sumeer Elementary, she held roles as an assistant principal, instructional coach, and a classroom teacher.

Principal Lambert shared, “We are so excited for Crystal to join Sumeer as our Dean of Students. She will be the perfect fit to lead our students and staff.”
