Two talented Melissa High School Theatre students, Maddie Brown and Logan Venner, earned bids to the national competition after excelling at the Texas Thespians State Festival in Grapevine, November 20-23, 2024.
Junior Maddie Brown competed in the Solo Musical event, while senior Logan Venner participated in the Monologue event. Both students were evaluated by a panel of three judges, competing against a set of specific standards. To qualify for Nationals, participants had to score 18 or higher out of 20 points on a detailed rubric—a benchmark both Brown and Venner met with distinction.
MHS Theatre Director Megan Moore shared her pride in the students’ achievements, “Maddie and Logan are our first students to qualify for Nationals at the Texas Thespians State Festival. They worked diligently to prepare for the competition, and their hard work paid off. We are so proud of how they represented Melissa Theatre!"
Congratulations to Maddie and Logan on this remarkable accomplishment! We look forward to cheering you on at Nationals!
