Congratulations to the Melissa High School Winter Guard who was awarded as a 2024 Winter Guard International (WGI) Dallas Regional Finalist at the WGI Dallas Regional Contest on Feb. 17-18, 2024. Competing in the Scholastic A Division preliminaries, the MHS Winter Guard faced off against 48 local winter guards. Following the preliminaries, only 20 winter guards were chosen to progress to the finals round, with our MHS Winter Guard proudly among them. Finishing in 12th place, the MHS Winter Guard demonstrated remarkable skill amidst tough competition from numerous local large schools.
The MHS Winter Guard has had a dynamic start to the season, clinching 1st place at the North Texas Color Guard Association (NTCA) Contest held at Red Oak High School on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024. Looking ahead, the team is preparing to compete again at the NTCA Timber Creek Contest on Saturday, March 2, 2024, taking place at Timber Creek High School. This upcoming event promises to be another exciting opportunity for the MHS Winter Guard to showcase their talent and dedication on the competitive stage.
Great job to the MHS Winter Guard on a great start to a season. Continue all the great work!
