Melissa ISD welcomes the entire community to the annual Heart for the Arts Festival, which has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Melissa High School’s Symmetry Plaza, due to the weather forecast this Thursday night.
This family-fun event will showcase the talents of the Visual and Performing Arts students in grades K-12, featuring artwork from all campuses and performances by theatrical and musical students. Children of all ages can enjoy arts and crafts stations offering activities like face painting, ornament making, and balloon animals. There will also be food trucks and hot chocolate. Admission is free of charge. Families are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets as they enjoy the performances on the Symmetry Plaza lawn.

5:30 p.m. - Elementary Honor Choir
5:45 p.m. - MMS Theatre
6:00 p.m. - MHS Theatre
6:15 p.m. - MHS Show Choir
6:30 p.m. - MHS Jazz Band
7:00 p.m. - 6th Grade Band Concert in MAC
Following Heart of the Arts on Tuesday evening, attendees can head to the Melissa Arts Center for the Sixth Grade Band Concert, which begins at 7 pm.
Additionally, the Melissa Chamber of Commerce in coordination with Melissa ISD has canceled the Christmas Parade previously scheduled for Thursday, November 30 due to the weather forecast. For more information regarding future Chamber of Commerce events, visit www.melissatx.org/signature-events.
