Head Coach Justin Lowry

Coach Justin Lowry is excited to join Melissa High School as the Head Boys Soccer Coach and PALS Teacher. Having earned a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science from Texas State University in 2015, Coach Lowry has accumulated a decade of teaching and coaching experience. He spent 2015-2018 as an assistant coach and biology teacher at McKinney High School, followed by 2018-2021 as an assistant coach and AP Environmental Science teacher at Frisco Memorial High School. From 2021 to 2024, Coach Lowry served as the head boys soccer coach and AP Environmental Science teacher at Frisco Emerson, building the program from scratch as the first-year school. Coach Lowry also earned recognition as a Teacher of the Year nominee for three consecutive years at Emerson. His coaching highlights include playoff experience as a 2nd assistant coach at McKinney High School and achieving a 5th place finish in the first-year varsity program at Frisco Emerson.

As a former athlete, he brings a wealth of playing experience to his coaching role. Starting his varsity soccer career as a freshman at Naaman Forest High School, he earned multiple awards each year, including 1st and 2nd team all-district honors and offensive player of the year awards. Coach Lowry continued his soccer journey at Ouachita Baptist University, where he was named to the All-GSC Academic Team and competed in the Gulf South Conference Championship tournament. After transferring to Texas State University, he concluded his college career playing for the club team affiliated with the university.

Outside of coaching and teaching, Coach Lowry enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and watching professional soccer, especially Everton and FC Dallas matches. As a resident of Melissa, Justin, his wife, and their two young children are thrilled to become part of the Cardinal family.
