Head Coach Josh Bobbitt
Coach Bobbitt has been teaching and coaching for 23 years, serving Melissa ISD for the past three years; additionally, he has 12 years of head coaching experience. He teaches "Leadworthy The Course," a course focused on Teen Leadership at Melissa High School.
Coach Bobbitt spent most of his coaching career at Wichita Falls Rider High School. While at Rider HS, he helped lead the Raiders to the State Baseball Tournament three times, in 2010, 2011, and 2013, winning the 4A State Championship in 2011.
As a high school player, Coach Bobbitt led Holliday High School to the State Tournament twice as a left-handed pitcher and was selected to the All-State Team for three years. After high school, he attended Tulane University, where he was an All-American and named Conference USA Pitcher of the Year in 1998. Following his time at Tulane, Coach Bobbitt signed with the Texas Rangers to play in the minor leagues, where he played for two seasons.
Coach Bobbitt is happily married to his wife, who is also an educator within Melissa ISD. The game of baseball has blessed Coach Bobbitt in many ways throughout his playing and coaching career. He has a passion for kids and loves having the opportunity to impact their lives positively. His motto is, "Kids don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."
