Two athletes from Melissa High School's Track & Field team have secured their spots at the 2025 Track & Field 5A State Meet. At the UIL Regional Meet held on April 18-19, 14 students from Melissa High School participated in various track and field events. Kennedy Branch emerged as a state qualifier in the Girls 100M Dash, breaking the previous school record with a time of 11.49 seconds. Additionally, Zoe Grall qualified for state in the Girls 100M Wheelchair with a personal record of 26.44 seconds.
The Melissa High School Track & Field team had an outstanding, record-breaking season, highlighted by the Girls 4x100M Relay Team. This exceptional group shattered the school record not once, but four times throughout the season. They capped off their remarkable run at the Regional Track Meet, breaking both the school and their personal best one final time with an impressive finish of 47.41 seconds.
These exceptional athletes will represent Melissa High School at the 2025 Conference 5A Track & Field State Meet, scheduled for Friday, May 2, at the Mike A. Myers Track and Soccer Stadium in Austin. Let's extend our best wishes to these athletes as they compete at the state level. Go Cardinals!
