Changes to the Melissa ISD 2022-2023 school calendar will go into effect this spring as a result of the weather-related school closures that took place the week of Jan. 30.
Melissa ISD students will make up two missed school days using the Bad Weather Make-Up Days already included in the academic calendar. The district expects to receive a waiver from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to exempt Melissa Schools from making up any additional missed school days.
Looking ahead this spring:
- Students will have school on Monday, March 27 and Wednesday, May 24 with normal school day hours.
- Thursday, May 25 is now the last day of school, the end of the fourth nine-week grading period, and will be an Early Release Day. On this day, students will be dismissed according to the early release times:
- Melissa Ridge Education Center @ 11:30 a.m.
- Harry McKillop, North Creek & Willow Wood Elementary @ 11:45 a.m.
- Melissa Middle School & Sixth Grade Center @ 12:35 p.m.
- Melissa High School @ 12:15 p.m.
Throughout the year, the school calendar can be accessed on the Melissa ISD website and app, and/or by visiting www.melissaisd.org/calendar.
