Twenty-three students from the Melissa High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) program participated in the SkillsUSA district competition Friday and Saturday, hosted at Texas State Technical College in Waco. Out of the 23 students who competed, 20 qualified to advance to state next month; their awards are outlined below by category.

The SkillsUSA state contest will be held in Corpus Christi from March 31 – April 2.
SkillsUSA participation is led by CTE Coordinator, Doug Bingman, and Dr. Debi Crawford, Executive Director of Technology & HIRE Education. Melissa High School teachers Dustin Clark, Rick Gagarin, and Tom Kyle assisted with recruiting and working with students to fine tune their skills for competition season.
