Congratulations to the Melissa High School Boys & Girls Powerlifting Teams for their outstanding performances at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association (THSPA) and Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) Regional Meets.
The Girls Powerlifting Team competed on March 1, 2025, at Legacy High School in Wichita Falls, finishing 4th overall. Of the 13 athletes who competed, five placed in their respective weight classes, with three qualifying for the THSWPA State Meet. Mikayla Nickerson was named Regional Champion, Paisley Needham earned Regional Runner-Up, and Olivianna Robertson secured a state bid based on total points.
The Boys Powerlifting Team competed on March 8, 2025, at Keller Central High School, placing 15th overall. Out of the five competitors, three placed in their weight classes, with Zander Paton and Miles Morrison qualifying for the THSPA State Meet based on their total points.
The THSWPA State Meet will take place on March 15, 2025, at the Comerica Center in Frisco, while the THSPA State Meet is set for March 21-22, 2025, at the Taylor Center in Abilene.
