Leadership Updates for MISD Elementary AP and Deans

Melissa ISD is excited to announce these leadership updates to the Melissa ISD Elementary campuses for the 2025-2026 school year. Learn more about each of these campus leaders below:


Michelle Day, Harry McKillop Elementary Assistant Principal

Mrs. Michelle Day brings 19 years of educational experience to her new role with the 2025-2026 school year being her second in Melissa ISD. Before becoming the Harry McKillop Elementary Assistant Principal, her most recent position was as the Dean of Students at North Creek Elementary. Before joining Melissa ISD last year, Mrs. Day held the role of a math interventionist in a small district which allowed her to lead the elementary campus mentorship program for new teachers as well as serve as a coordinator for the following activities: UIL, 504, MTSS, yearbook, and testing.

Harry McKillop Elementary Principal for the 2025-2026 school year, Kimberly Cole, shared her excitement of working with Mrs. Day, saying, “I am thrilled to partner with Michele Day as we work together to support our students, staff, and community. Her dedication and passion for education make her an incredible asset to our team, and I look forward to all that we will accomplish together."


Sarah Stapel, Harry McKillop Elementary Dean of Students

Mrs. Sarah Stapel brings 20 years of educational experience to her new role with the 2025-2026 school year being her tenth year in Melissa ISD. Most recently, she has served as a 5th grade and Team Lead at Harry McKillop Elementary. Mrs. Stapel has also held the roles as both a 3rd and 5th grade teacher during her career.

Harry McKillop Elementary Principal for the 2025-2026 school year, Kimberly Cole, is excited to welcome Sarah Stapel to her new role as Dean of Students, “I am excited to welcome Sarah Stapel to her new role as Dean of Students. Her dedication and experience as a teacher at Harry McKillop Elementary have been invaluable, and I am confident she will continue to make a positive impact on our students and collaborate effectively with our team to support our Cardinals.”


Laleh Olateju, North Creek Elementary Dean of Students

The 2025-2026 school year will be Mrs. Laleh Olateju’s seventh year with Melissa ISD and her 13th year in education. Before becoming the North Creek Elementary Dean of Students, her most recent position was as the Dean of Students at Harry McKillop Elementary. Prior to that, Mrs. Olateju served as an instructional coach, intervention specialist for grades K-5, testing coordinator, and teacher for grades 2nd-5th in Melissa, McKinney, and Dallas.

North Creek Elementary Principal for the 2025-2026 school year, Erika Parker, shared her excitement for working with Mrs. Olateju, stating, “I am thrilled to have Laleh Olateju join me as the Dean of Students at North Creek Elementary. Mrs. Olateju’s engaging energy and fierce commitment to our students and staff are sure to make a lasting, positive impact on our school community. She’s the true definition of a difference maker, and I can’t wait to see all of the amazing things she’ll do for our Cardinals.”


Ana DeOliveira, Willow Wood Elementary Dean of Students

The 2025-2026 school year will be Mrs. Ana DeOliveira’s third year with Melissa ISD and her 18th year in education. Before becoming the Willow Wood Elementary Dean of Students, her most recent position was a Kindergarten teacher at Willow Wood Elementary and was even named the Willow Wood Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2024. Before joining Melissa ISD, Mrs. DeOliveira taught preschool, Pre-K, and second grade and worked as an educational specialist.

Willow Wood Elementary Principal, Precious Bale, shared her excitement for working with Mrs. DeOliveira, stating, “We are excited to welcome Mrs. DeOliveira to the administrative team! She has already proven herself as a true asset to the campus, and we are excited to see her influence spread in multiple areas. Her dedication to students, staff, and the community is a true example of leading The Cardinal Way.”
