Melissa ISD is excited to announce these leadership updates to the Melissa ISD Elementary campuses for the 2025-2026 school year. Learn more about each of these campus leaders below:
Erika Parker, North Creek Elementary Principal
Mrs. Erika Parker brings 17 years of educational experience to her new role, marking her seventh year with Melissa ISD in the 2025-2026 school year. She has served as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, an instructional coach, and most recently, as assistant principal at Harry McKillop Elementary since 2022.
Principal Parker shared her heartfelt thoughts on stepping into this role, “The teachers and staff at North Creek Elementary are fiercely committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive, and I am truly honored to join this dedicated team. I believe in the power of collaboration and the strength of a united community, and I'm looking forward to learning and growing together as we continue to support and empower our students. Together, the possibilities before us are limitless, so let's go chase greatness, Cardinals!”
The Executive Director of Campus Services, Walter Perez, shared, “Erika Parker's dedication to Melissa ISD over the past seven years, including her leadership as assistant principal at Harry McKillop Elementary, has made a lasting impact on students and staff. We are excited for her to bring that same passion and commitment to North Creek Elementary as principal."
Amy Edwards, Melissa Ridge Education Center Administrator
Mrs. Amy Edwards brings 18 years of educational experience to her new role with the 2025-2026 school year being her fifth year in Melissa ISD. For the past three school years, she served as the Principal at North Creek Elementary. Mrs. Edwards began her career as a classroom teacher for second, third, and fourth grade in Lewisville ISD before becoming an assistant principal at North Creek Elementary in 2021.
Mrs. Edwards shared her enthusiasm for the journey ahead, “I’m thrilled to join MREC and partner with the leadership at our early childcare center as we support our little Cardinals and their families! There’s no place better than Melissa, and I can’t wait to continue to serve this amazing community and staff. I look forward to building a solid foundation for our students and strong connections with our team as we work together to make a lasting impact together.”
The Executive Director of Campus Services, Walter Perez, shared, “Amy Edwards has been a dedicated leader at North Creek Elementary, fostering a strong and supportive learning environment.” In the 2025-2026 school year, MREC will continue to serve our Cardinal Childcare and specialty early childhood programs. Mr. Perez emphasized, “With five years of service in Melissa ISD, her experience and passion for education will be a tremendous asset to the Melissa Ridge Education Center. We are excited to see her continue making a positive impact in this new role."
