Socktober

From October 22-31, 2024, Melissa Middle School participated in the annual Socktober event, organized by the MMS SkillsUSA Chapter. The event encouraged the campus community to donate new pairs of socks, which were then collected and donated to the Samaritan Inn. The goal for this event was set at 1,000 pairs, and thanks to the generous support of students and staff, a total of 1,012 pairs of socks were donated.

A special congratulations goes to the MMS SkillsUSA Chapter for their dedication and hard work in making this event a success. These students not only created and organized Socktober, but also designed their own promotional materials and tracked donations. Melissa ISD is incredibly proud of these students for their commitment to supporting those in need and giving back to the community.

Melissa Middle School as a whole demonstrated outstanding support for this cause, with contributions coming from every corner of the campus. The collective effort of students, faculty, and staff truly embodies the spirit of generosity that makes our community so special.

Special thanks to MMS Skills USA Student Reporter, Brooklyn Allen, for providing the photos & information.
