On Wednesday, October 23, Mathews Auto Group (Honda and Nissan in Paris, TX) celebrated two extremely deserving teachers from Melissa ISD by honoring them through their "Pay it Forward" initiative.
Among the honorees was Aly Holder, Special Education Teacher at Harry McKillop Elementary. Krissy Womack, the HME Principal, emphasized Holder’s hardwork and dedication to her students saying, “Ms. Holder exemplifies the Cardinal Way with her unwavering commitment to her student's academic and behavioral success. Her passion for her students, team and parents shines bright for all to see. We are proud of Aly and the positive impact she makes on our Cards.”
Also honored was Marisabel Barahona, a Melissa Middle School Special Education Aide. The MMS Principal, Melinda Keen, expressed her thankfulness for Barahona, stating, “Mrs. Barahona is an asset to our campus. She doesn't know the word no. She is always willing and able to help when and where she can. Our staff and students are thankful to have her here with us!”
The dealership owners, Tim and Julie Anderson, are a former Melissa Cardinal family and initiated the “Pay it Forward” program to recognize educators who go above and beyond for students and the school without expecting anything in return. Both Holder and Barahona were awarded $250 each through this initiative as a thank you for their service in education.
A big congratulations to these outstanding teachers! We truly appreciate everything you do for our Cardinals!
