SBLE Training with Chief Fontana

Melissa ISD hosted the Texas State Safety Center for their annual School-Based Law Enforcement Training at Melissa High School from July 15-19, 2024. This event brought together over 300 law enforcement officers from across the state to participate in a comprehensive training program.

The training was coordinated by Joe Munzo, SBLE Program Manager, and Chris Fontana, Melissa ISD’s Chief of Police. Their efforts ensured a successful event featuring multiple training sessions led by notable trainers from Texas and across the nation and participants had the opportunity to earn Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) credits.

In addition to the training, Melissa ISD collaborated with local businesses to provide meals and foster networking opportunities for the officers.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Melissa ISD remains committed to being a beacon of excellence and safety among Texas school districts.
