On Wednesday, May 29, Mathews Auto Group (Honda and Nissan in Paris, TX) celebrated two extremely deserving staff members from Melissa ISD by honoring them through their "Pay it Forward" initiative.
Among the honorees was Michael Martinez, a Paraprofessional in the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP). DAEP Principal, Ronnie Havens, commended Martinez for his hard work, saying, “Mike was nominated for the Pay It Forward award for his commitment to bettering our students every day. Over the last two years, Mike has been a huge influence on the students of our alternative program, encouraging them to make great choices and strive for success in their academics and beyond. Mike has a way of challenging those around him to be their best in all things!”
Also honored was Dominic "Jim" Rodosta, the Melissa ISD Transportation Lead Mechanic. Kimberley Wouters, Director of Transportation, spoke highly of Rodosta, saying, “Jim is our lead mechanic, but he is so much more than that to our department. There truly is not a thing he cannot do, and he always does it with a great attitude. He works on all the fleet vehicles, drives a bus when needed, trains drivers, and tackles anything that is ever asked of him without complaint. I could not think of a more deserving employee; he represents the Cardinal Way in all that he does!”
The dealership owners, Tim and Julie Anderson, are a former Melissa Cardinal family and initiated the 'Pay it Forward' program to recognize educators who go above and beyond for students and the school without expecting anything in return. Both Martinez and Rodosta were awarded $250 each through this initiative as a thank you for their service in education.
Congratulations to these incredible staff members! We deeply appreciate your dedication to our Cardinals and the Melissa ISD team.
