Logan Daniell has been hired to serve as the head tennis coach at Melissa High School. Student-athletes, parents, guardians, and community members are invited to a meet-and-greet event with Coach Daniell on Thursday, May 23 at 6:00 p.m., in the Champions Lounge at the Melissa Championship Center.
Coach Daniell has five years of coaching experience, including two years as head coach at Van High School and three years as assistant coach at Anna High School. At Van, he led the team to a top 25 state ranking and consecutive playoff appearances. At Anna, he achieved notable success with three straight regional semifinal appearances and multiple district championships. His accomplishments include winning a boys singles state championship in 2023 and having nine players sign to play college tennis. He was also named TTCA 4A State Assistant Coach of the Year in 2023. Additionally, he assisted the East Texas Baptist University men's and women's teams this past year.
Coach Daniell is from Wills Point, TX, where he was a four-time varsity letterman in high school tennis and a two-time state qualifier. He played collegiate tennis for two years at McMurry University, participating in singles and doubles, and then transferred to Texas Tech University, where he played on the club tennis team that qualified for the national tournament. Daniell also worked as a pro coach at Burgess Rushing Tennis Center and served as the stringer/manager for the Texas Tech men's and women's teams. He graduated from Texas Tech in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing.
Coach Daniell and his wife have been part of the Melissa community for several years with his wife teaching at Melissa High School since 2019. Coach Daniell believes in the value of community and building positive relationships on and off the court.
