Justin Lowry has been hired to serve as the head boys soccer coach at Melissa High School. Student-athletes, parents, guardians, and community members are invited to a meet-and-greet event with Coach Lowry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, in the VIP Lounge at the Melissa Championship Center.
Coach Lowry brings over a decade of coaching experience, including a successful tenure as head coach in Frisco ISD. From 2021 to 2024, he was the head boys' soccer coach and AP Environmental Science teacher at Frisco Emerson, where he built the soccer program from its inception and earned Teacher of the Year nominations for three consecutive years. Prior to that, he assistant coach and taught at Frisco Memorial and McKinney High School where he helped coached his teams to multiple playoff appearances.
Coach Lowry also brings a wealth of playing experience. He began his varsity soccer career as a freshman at Naaman Forest High School, earning multiple district honors before heading to Ouachita Baptist University, where he continued his academic and athletic successes. He later transferred and played on club soccer team for Texas State, graduating with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science.
Coach Lowry and his wife along with their two children have been proud members of the Melissa community since 2019. Coach Lowry values community and believes in fostering positive relationships both on and off the field. Coach Lowry looks forward to not only leading the soccer program but also contributing as one of the PALS teachers, guiding students in mentoring their younger peers. His overarching goal is to develop a soccer program that not only achieves excellence on the field but also instills courageous leadership qualities in every student-athlete.
