Two athletes from Melissa High School's Track & Field team have secured their spots at the 2024 Conference 5A Track & Field State Meet. At the UIL Region 2 Track and Field Meet held on April 19 and 22, six students from Melissa High School participated in various track and field events. Logan Tauch emerged as the Regional Champion in both of his events. In the 3200m race, Tauch surpassed the 5A meet record and his own personal best with a remarkable time of 9:05:08, 13 seconds faster than the next competitor. Additionally, he excelled in the 1600m event, achieving a new personal record of 4:11:40. Lincoln Dunn also earned the title of Regional Champion in his 100m event, with a time of 10:51.
These exceptional athletes will represent Melissa High School at the 2024 Conference 5A Track & Field State Meet, scheduled for Friday, May 3, at the Mike A.
