On Friday, March 1, Mathews Nissan of Paris celebrated two exemplary educators from Melissa ISD by honoring them through their "Pay it Forward" initiative.
Kimberly Pope, First Grade teacher at North Creek Elementary, was one of the teachers honored. North Creek Elementary principal, Amy Edwards, complimented Pope, saying, “Kimberly Pope is truly a world-class educator! She is passionate and caring about each one of her students and coworkers. Every day, she goes above and beyond, pouring her heart into her students and teammates. Without a doubt, she makes a positive difference in the lives she touches."
Allie Graham, who teaches Kindergarten at Harry McKillop Elementary, was also honored. Krissy Womack, the principal at Harry McKillop, spoke highly of Graham, saying, “Allie Graham is an inspirational leader who seeks to serve her students as growing members of our community. She is relentless in her pursuit of building a classroom culture with powerful relationships, high expectations, and students empowered to learn. We are super proud to have Allie Graham as a member of our HME family and appreciate her unwavering commitment to excellence.”
The dealership owners, Tim and Julie Anderson, are a former Melissa Cardinal family and initiated the “Pay it Forward” program to recognize teachers who go above and beyond for students and the school without expecting anything in return. Both Pope and Graham were awarded $250 each through this initiative as a thank you for their service in education.
Congratulations to these wonderful teachers! We are thankful for all you do for our Cardinals.
