Three Melissa High School students participated in the UIL Regionals Swim Meet on Feb. 9-10 at New Caney ISD. Freshman Everette Bell, sophomore Maxim Smirnov, and junior Abiel Torres, finished off their swim season with many outstanding placements at regionals.
In the 50-yard freestyle, all three athletes showcased their speed and skill, with Bell securing an impressive 9th place, Torres finishing in 12th, and Smirnov finishing in 16th place. Bell’s talent also extended to the 100-yard freestyle where he finished 12th place. Additionally, Torres competed in the 100 yard butterfly where he finished in 6th place and Smirnov competed in the 100 yard breaststroke were he finished in 5th place.
These outstanding achievements mark the end of a season filled with hard work and dedication for the MHS Cardinals as they represented Melissa ISD. Congratulations Cardinals!
