Summer CTE Student Workforce

Note: Melissa ISD has applied for the Summer Workforce Grant and we are anxiously awaiting an announcement of the recipients of those grants. We have been informed the announcement has been delayed. We have decided to go ahead and open the application process for the program. Applicants should understand, if Melissa ISD is not a recipient of the grant, we may have a small number of opportunities for part-time positions, but we will not have the full number of applicants (16-20) that the grant would provide.

Summer 2024 Session:
June 3 - August 15, 2024

The Melissa ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Student Workforce is a 9-week summer carousel program that offers high school students the opportunity to gain work experience in the areas of Technology Infrastructure, Plumbing, Electrical, Air Conditioning (HVAC), Installation, and General Maintenance and Repairs.

Working two days per week during the summer break from school, students receive on-the-job training and instruction from Melissa ISD mentors. Upon completion of the 144-hour program, students will earn a $1,500 stipend, one work-based learning credit, and an industry-recognized safety certification.

Interested in participating? Read the information below so that you are aware of the program requirements, work schedule, and location, and then follow the link to complete the online application by May 22, 2024.
