Community Business Connections
Community News Folder
This forum allows local businesses and organizations to post information on programs, fundraisers, events, and other activities. The Melissa ISD website will be the primary source of information distribution for all non school-related information. Flyers will not be distributed on campuses. The information posted through the website should be youth-oriented and is subject to review and approval according to Melissa ISD Board Policy GKDA (Local).
The information will be shared on our Community News Folder and a link to the folder is included on our weekly newsletters to remind people to visit the site. Any businesses or groups who would like to post information to the Community News Folder must complete the MISD Community Business Connection Form. Upon submission, the request will be reviewed by the Melissa ISD Communications department for approval and posted to the Community News Folder.
Non-Profit or School-Sponsored Groups: Non-profit groups and those groups who have a partnership with the school district or exist for the sole purpose of supporting Melissa ISD (i.e. City of Melissa, Booster Club, Campus PTOs, and the Melissa Education Foundation) will be allowed to post information in the Community News Folder at no cost.
For-Profit Groups: For-profit groups can pay a fee of $30 to post their advertisement in the Community News Folder. Payment must be submitted before postings are approved.
Flyer Format: The youth-oriented flyer must be a PDF or JPEG file and the dimensions must be 8.5 by 11 inches.
Marketing to Melissa ISD Staff
Melissa ISD does not authorize businesses to utilize employee mailboxes for the distribution of marketing materials.
Businesses who wish to distribute marketing materials (i.e. flyers, gift baskets, goodie bags, etc.) to Melissa ISD employees must complete the MISD Community Business Connection Form. Melissa ISD also offers an online forum that allows local businesses and organizations to post approved advertisements and marketing materials in a staff newsletter called, "Birdie's Bargains." The marketing materials should offer some type of discount or teacher/staff incentive and is subject to review and approval according to Board Policy GKDA (Local).
Campus Support Partner
Our Campus Support Program was created to allow local businesses and organizations the opportunity to support our campuses and teachers in ways that will impact most without disrupting their day-to-day operations. The support from our community is essential in helping our campuses succeed. Please share with us how you would like to partner with our campuses by completing the MISD Community Business Connection Form.
