Head Coach Logan Daniell

Coach Daniell is excited to step into the role of head tennis coach at Melissa High School. For the past 5 years, he has been the head tennis coach at Van High School (2 years) and the assistant tennis coach at Anna High School (3 years). Coach Daniell started his coaching career at Van and helped take the Vandals to a top 25 ranking in the state for 4A. He also led the team to the playoffs in the fall for two consecutive years. He moved to Anna afterward, and during his time there, he helped the Coyotes achieve many accomplishments. These include 3 straight years to the team tennis regional semifinals in the fall, 3-time boys' and girls' district champions in the fall and spring seasons, qualifying 33 players for the regional tennis tournament in the spring, 3 straight years to the state tennis tournament in the spring, winning the boys' singles state championship in 2023, having 9 players sign to play at the college level after high school, and winning the TTCA 4A State Assistant Coach of the Year Award in 2023. He has also spent the last year assisting the East Texas Baptist University men's and women's teams outside of high school tennis.

Coach Daniell is from Wills Point, TX, and was a 4-time varsity letterman for the varsity tennis team during his high school years. He was a 2-time state qualifier for Wills Point and helped take his team to the state semifinals in the fall of his senior year. After high school, he played 2 years of collegiate tennis at McMurry University in Abilene, TX. Coach Daniell played in the singles and doubles lineup for the Warhawks during his time there. He finished his last 2 years of college at Texas Tech University, where he played on the club tennis team, which qualified for the national tournament in the spring. He coached at Burgess Rushing Tennis Center for 2 years as a pro coach, and he also became the stringer/manager for the Texas Tech men's and women's teams. He graduated from Texas Tech University in the summer of 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing.

Coach Daniell and his wife have been members of the Melissa community for the last several years, and his wife has been teaching at MHS since 2019. During the summers, he enjoys coaching at the Nike Tennis Camps, the University of Texas at Austin tennis camps, and helping local tennis coaches with their tennis camps/academies. Coach Daniell believes in the value of community and building positive relationships on and off the court.
