Head Coach Cassie Crabtree

Cassie Crabtree is a distinguished figure in the world of sports coaching, embodying the essence of dedication, passion, and mental toughness. Cassie has an overall coaching record of 319 wins and 109 losses. Currently leading as the Head Softball Coach at Melissa High School, Cassie has propelled the team to extraordinary achievements, including reaching the regional finals and semifinals, and being undefeated district champions for consecutive years. This remarkable performance earned her the prestigious Coach of the Year title in 2022. In her first year with the Cardinals, Cassie's leadership was pivotal in the team hitting 52 home runs and breaking several records. Alongside her coaching responsibilities, Cassie also excels as a Special Education teacher in a life skills classroom, demonstrating a unique combination of educational and athletic expertise.

Cassie's journey through the coaching landscape is marked by significant achievements at various levels. Before her current role, she served as the Girls Athletic Coordinator at Van High School, leading the team to three district championships and earning the Coach of the Year title three times. At Lampasas High School, Cassie continued this trend of excellence, securing district championships twice and being named Coach of the Year twice. Her tenure at the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of Texas at Tyler further highlights her coaching prowess, with numerous school records broken and a top 10 national team finish under her guidance. Cassie's coaching career began at Forney High School, where she was a pivotal force in leading the team to regional finals and semi-finals, with two 40 plus win seasons, alongside being named Coach of the Year three times.

Beyond the coaching realm, Cassie boasts an impressive athletic background. As a student-athlete at Southern Arkansas University, she excelled as a pitcher and utility player, earning accolades such as 1st Team All-Region and 3x 1st Team All-Conference player. Her commitment to sports and academics was recognized through the Outstanding Student Athlete Award and the Auburn Smith Award. Cassie holds a Bachelor's degree from Southern Arkansas University and a Master's degree from Texas Woman's University, underscoring a strong foundation in both sports and academics.

Off the field, Cassie enjoys a balanced life, cherishing time with family and engaging in personal interests. This blend of professional achievement and personal fulfillment embodies her philosophy, resonating with the words of Kobe Bryant: “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.” This quote perfectly encapsulates Cassie's approach to coaching and life – inspiring and developing athletes not just in their sports, but in cultivating an elite mindset for all aspects of life.
