Orders for Homecoming shirts close on Friday, Sept. 27.

  • Short-Sleeve: $15

  • Long-Sleeve: $18

Homecoming shirts are available in short-sleeve, long-sleeve, and youth sizes with two design options available for the front of the shirt. Orders will be distributed on campuses beginning Monday, October 7, 2024, by the Melissa High School Student Council.

Homecoming Court, Prince & Princess

We are excited to introduce the Melissa High School 2024 Homecoming Court, including our Homecoming Prince and Princess! These Cardinals will proudly appear in the Melissa Homecoming parade and pep rally on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The crowning ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, just before the Melissa vs. Frisco Independence Homecoming football game.

Themed Dress-Up Days

Students and staff can participate in themed dress-up days the week of Oct. 15-18! Dress-up day themes are listed by grade level.

Students who wish to wear a Homecoming mum to school may do so on Friday, Oct. 18 as long as the mum aligns with the school dress code. Students should follow the Melissa ISD Dress code for Homecoming Week themed dress-up days; specific dress-up rules are at the discretion of each campus' administrators.

Tailgating
5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

The community is invited to tailgate from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the designated tailgating area, located on the west side of the Championship Center. See the Parade Map below.

New this year for tailgating: Concessions will be open starting at 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. inside Coach Kenny Deel Stadium. A special homecoming menu will be offered, so come enjoy hot dogs, snacks, and drinks while helping to support our student organizations!

Tailgating may begin no earlier than 5 p.m. in the designated tailgating area. All tailgating spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The 2024 Melissa Homecoming Parade begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16. This year’s parade theme is “Beat the Knights!” Prizes will be awarded to the top three best-decorated floats.

The community can watch the parade all along the designated route. As a reminder, for safety reasons, nothing is allowed to be thrown from the floats or handed out by parade participants.

A community pep rally at Kenny Deel Stadium will follow the Melissa Homecoming Parade. The pep rally will begin as soon as the parade ends.

The Melissa Cardinals will face the Frisco Independence Knights at this year’s Homecoming football game on Friday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The 2024 Melissa High School Homecoming King and Queen will also be crowned at the game. The theme will be Red Out.

Tickets to the game will go on sale at 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 online at www.melissaisd.org/tickets. Ticket pricing is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Ticket prices increase to $10 for adults and students after 3 p.m. the day of the game. Reserved seats are available for purchase at $17 each

Those who can’t make it to the game can watch and listen live from home through the Melissa ISD livestream with commentary by the Melissa Cardinals Network.

Melissa High School Homecoming Dance

Hollywood Homecoming
7:00-10:00 p.m.

The Melissa High School Homecoming Dance will be held from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 in the MHS Gym and Courtyard Pavilion. The theme is “Hollywood Homecoming." Lights, Camera, Action! We are rolling out the red carpet to let our students shine like stars!
